Santa's List

So Day three of my Christmas card features the Santa's List stamp set.  I love this one, perfect for colouring!!

To remind you of my Christmas card parade so far and the stamp sets I used:
Day One featured - Color Me Christmas
Day Two featured - Evergreen and embossing

So back to Santa's List.  A great stamp set this year as my kids keep singing, "You had better watch out, you better not cry, you better look out, I'm telling you why.  Santa Claus is coming to town".

Now that you're singing along with me, here are a few cards I made featuring this set!

I have stamped my Santa's with Jet Black Staz On and used my red watercolour pencils and my Aqua Painters to brush the colour onto Santa's jacket and hat.  You can add as much colour depth as you want!

I die cut my Santa's into a circle shape and then die cut the Cherry Cobbler background using my Window Frames  Collection.  They go so well together.

Sadly my Whisper White CS order is on backorder (insert a very sad face here), so I ran out of Whisper White CS to do all my layering.  Oh well, the single layer turned out well too!

I added a strip of the stripey Season of Style DSP papers.  Somehow the stripes go really well with Santa.  I added my sentiment and layered onto Sahara Sand CS and added a bit of Sahara Sand sponging as well!

The second design in this series, was based on a design I saw on Pinterest, blogs, Facebook.  Not really sure, but I loved it!  I stamped Santa this time onto my card layer using Cherry Cobbler ink.  I made sure I pressed the stamp firmly to give lots of colour as I wasn't going to be adding watercolouring to the card!

I then layered with some more stripey papers.  Which makes the card look so different depending on what direction you have the stripes!  Personally I prefer the second one where the stripes are pointing upwards :)

I then added a strip of black satin ribbon over the edge where the two layers meet and threaded through a buckly that I had made from Silver Shimmer CS using the little label punch.  So cute!!  The buckle was a brilliant brainwave I thought!!

So here's what I used:
Stamps: Santa's List
Inks: Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black Sahara Sand & Jet Black Staz On
Papers: Whisper White CS and Seasons of Style DSP stack, Silver Shimmer CS
Accessories: Black satin ribbon, little label punch & sponge daubers
Big Shot: Circle & Window Frames Collection framelits
