A Teacher's Pet

Aahhh! The Queen's Birthday Long Weekend! Don't you love it! It may be the start of winter with cool nights but we still get to enjoy the lovely days and the fireworks!!

Our Saturday started fairly normally! The kids gave us a mini-sleep in (till 8am) which sounds great but not when you've been kept awake at 1.30am with crying babies :) Saturday morning rush central started with us all getting out the door to get Big Boy Luke (BBL) off to soccer. Baby Matthew (BM) and I normally stay home (it's a bit of a father & son thing) but I had to get BBL to a party that started the same time as the soccer. So we compromised on this one and played the first half of the soccer match and then we were off in a mad dash to the party. A bit late but we got there. BM had a ball too. An unofficial guest of the party as we were hanging around waiting!

We picked up BBL's new glasses which look fantastic on him and will hopefully help him get over the headaches he's been having. BM fell asleep in the pram so it was back home to get him to bed and for me to tidy up before my WH's dad & his family came over.

Anyway, after dinner and a play with the fireworks, it was time to clear up and tidy the craft table - and play some more. All the little boys are in bed and the big boy is watching TV. With all the birthdays this month, I'm planning to stay on track and ahead of mailing schedule. Although no promises!

Today's card is a quickie I had to make for the birthday boy (Dylan) and his party today. Dylan and BBL will both turn 6 this week on the same day, so his mum and I coordinated parties. Dylan's this weekend and BBL's party next weekend! I realised at the very last minute, that I don't seem to have many stamp sets or papers that are aimed for the 6-10 yrs age group. The ones I have seem to be too babyish, too cutesy for boys or just too old. I'm going to dig out the Idea Book & Catalogue this weekend and see what I can do about that! Luckily I had my sister's brand new Teachers Pet stamp set sitting on my table that I was going to assemble for her before putting in the post! It gave me enough of an idea to make a card and incorporating the colours from my masculine card yesterday. It's a 4" x 4" card too. Nice & quick!

Stamps: Teachers Pet & Occasional Greetings

Papers: Stampin' Up! Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss & Chocolate Chip cardstock & Urban Garden DSP

Inks: Stampin' Up! Classic Basic Grey & Green Galore

I like the card and was happy with my five minute wonder. I guess for a 6 year old boy, they are more interested in the present. I am pretty sure his mum will notice!

Anyway, I'm heading back to the craft table. See you soon!
