My Hibiscus Card

Gosh did you get the storm last night? We did. We literally had to 'batten down the hatches'. The wind was so strong and we had rain too (which we are happy about), although I notice a few of our neighbours lost a few trees. Thankfully we didn't lose any of our roses or trees! But it was a funny old day today. Hot and muggy, with just a few seconds of rain. The type of day to stay inside and stay cool with the air-con on. Although it's rather quiet today. Big Boy Luke has gone to his Nan for a sleep over (his first time) and it's really really quiet. It's amazing - what difference one person can make to the sound levels in the house!

I have been working on some gifts and packaging today for my hostesses which I will show tomorrow. I am having so much fun with my themes. I have a bathroom accessories theme, notebooks & stationery and, of course, babies! Not hard to do - when both your sisters are having babies, as are a few girls at work! Everything coordinates courtesy of the designer series papers from Stampin' Up! which match their colours, their ribbons, stamps and embellishments. You would be amazed at how easy it is. Just a few accessories from around the house and you can put it all together. Makes for a perfect gift! Now that's got me thinking ..............

Today I made a birthday card for one of my friend's down in Melbourne. Her birthday kind of gets forgotten in the middle of Australia Day festivities - but that's why we have birthday calendars! What do you think?

Stamps: Embrace Life

Inks: Stampin' Up! Classic Chocolate Chip, Black, River Rock, Rose Red & Garden Green

Papers: Stampin' Up! Whisper White, Rose Red & Apricot Appeal

Other: Stampin' Pastels (Chalks), Scallop Edge Punch & Dew Drops

Note: I have used Stampin' Pastels to colour in the flowers and used Stampin' Dimensionals to 'lift up' one of the hibiscus flowers!

I have just looked at the time on the computer. It's 6.15pm. Time to get dinner for Baby Matthew and the grown-ups of course!
