Fit for a Princess

Well it's been all about the birthdays at my house the last few weeks!  Just this weekend gone, we had two parties .... my son's movie party on the Saturday and my little girl's party on Sunday.

So my Jessie girl turned four the other day.  And she's our princess.  So I wanted everything to be pretty for her, including the card, the cake, the everything!!  I finally settled on the idea of having a Princess Castle card.  But how to design???  The dilemma.  Google was my friend and I found a great template that I adapted for my card.

I cut the first layer from my stash of Pretty in Pink CS (I'm still sad my favourite shade of pink has retired) and cut the top layer from a piece of Pretty in Pink DSP.  The arched doors are the reverse of the DSP, so fit perfectly within the door I cut!

I've used various scraps of papers, punches and pretty pieces to decorate my castle.  Including lots of sparkly glitter around the window and door edges.  It doesn't show up too well in the photo, but they are there!  I've added ribbon bows, brads for door handles and a little butterfly!

I've used the white card insert as a feature as well, by embossing with my clouds Embossing Folder.  It also means I was able to write on the inside of the card which can't be seen from the front.

Jessie girl really loved this card, and that's all that matters for a four year old!!  Happy birthday princess xx

ps You can find the template for the castle at 'A Path of Paper'.
