3rd day of Christmas

On the third day of Christmas ...... Today we showcase one of my favourite cards I've given to all my Stampin' Up! friends!!  This card uses a tricky technique.  Read on for details!

I love the elegance of this card.  I've used the beautiful colours of Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White with highlights of Gumball Green.

And this card uses the technique of Double Embossing. With several layers of scrap cardstock (I used a cereal box), I created the shape of my Christmas tree.  What's tricky about this one, is that when this tecnique is used, only the shape that I've created is embossed on to the cardstock in the embossing folder.  Cool.  (I just won't tell how many cards were ruined in the process of learning!!)

I also made the card using just Cherry Cobbler as the base, but I have to say, I prefer with Whisper White as the base and Cherry Cobbler as the matt.

Here's what I used:
Stamps: Come to Bethlehem
Inks: Early Espresso & Cherry Cobbler marker
Papers: Whisper White & Cherry Cobbler CS, Be of Good Cheer DSP, Silver Glimmer Paper
Other: Gumball Green stitched satin ribbon, Stapler, Star punch
Big Shot: Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder

So come back soon for more 12 days of Christmas!!
