With Sympathy

It's never easy to make sympathy cards.  Especially for someone close.  Last week my sister's MIL passed away.  While we were able to express our sorrows to my sister and her family, it also felt right to send a card too.

I wanted a card that wasn't fussy, simple but elegant.  I turned to my old trusty (and long retired) Close as a Memory for the sentiments and the Fabulous Floret set for the flowers.

I first stamped the flowers with Raspberry Ripple and Old Olive onto the cardstock, and then made masks with some post-it notes (just over the flowers only).  I then stamped the French Script background stamp over the flowers and did a lot of sponging with Old Olive.

I found some coordinating ribbon and the card was complete!

Here's what I used:
Stamps: Fabulous Florets, French Script & Close as a Memory
Inks: Raspberry Ripple, Old Olive & Early Espresso
Papers: Whisper White & Old Olive
Other: Sponges, ribbon, post-it notes
