A Kind Word

t's a rainy day here in Canberra, just perfect for catching up on cards that I need to get into the mail this weekend!

April seems to be a popular month for birthdays, and especially for little girls!! I needed a card for a sweet just turned 7 year old girl who loves all thing pink. With a touch of feminine of course. And what could be more perfect than one of my favourites from the current SU Idea Book & Catalogue - A kind word!

Of course, it had to feature pink and lots of it!!

So inspired by my bunch of gerbera flowers on my kitchen bench, I used pink with a touch of yellow and a bit of green!!  So here it is to show:

Here's the flowers that inspired me and what I used:

Stamps: A Kind Word
Inks: Black StazOn
Papers: Pixie Pink, Certainly Celery, Whisper White & Patterns Pack II DSP (hostess gift)
Other: Watercolour pencils, Certainly Celery Ribbon, slot punch, Big Shot & SU Little Leaves die, yellow flowers, sponge daubers and pearls.

I have distressed the edges of the papers and card stock with my fingernail.  To soften the edges of the white cardstock I have used my sponge dauber with Certainly Celery very lightly over the edges.  I also sponged the edges of the leaves after cutting them out.  Adds more depth (they are so flat without it!!).

Hope you enjoy and happy birthday Claire!
