Happy Birthday my little big boy Luke!

It's a birthday day today. My little big boy Luke turned 6 today! He's growing up so fast now - I guess my baby boy is growing up now!

We had a lovely day. We had presents and breakfast this morning before heading out to school. And boy, was that cold. The local mountain ranges were covered in snow and while it was quite pretty to see you could feel the icy cold in the air! I sent Luke with a container full of cupcakes to celebrate his birthday with at school!

I then came home and made more cupcakes for his little 'party' after school. Just family, we celebrated with cake, lollies and chips and sung Happy Birthday! Luke had a great day and now he's got his party on the weekend to look forward to!!

Can you believe this? I struggled to make his birthday card! After going through all my stamp sets and believe me, there are quite a few of them! I couldn't really find anything age appropriate for him that weren't too babyish or cutesy! I found a retired Stampin' Up! set 'In the Stars' which was the best I could do! I think I better pick up the Idea Book & Catalogue and go shopping again!!

Here it is:

Stamps: In the Stars (retired) & Occasional Greetings

Papers: Stampin' Up! Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss, Not Quite Navy & Kraft cardstock

Inks: Stampin' Up! Classic Basic Grey, Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss & Yoyo Yellow

Other: Star Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals & slightest hint of glitter (I used Kindy Glitz), Chipboard number 6

I've used this colour combination in a few things now and it's so perfect for boys/male themed cards. Even the use of the Kraft cardstock (such a neutral colour) adds to the feel of masculinity!!

Anyway, I hope Luke likes it. He's been to absorbed/mesmerised/obsessed with his new toys to notice the cards. Oh well, maybe he'll have a look tomorrow!
