Good Friend

It's hard to believe that it's almost the end of March, day light savings is about to end and we're well and truly in the months of Autumn. Funny that, we're still enjoying the warm sunny days here in Canberra with the refreshing coolness of the evenings. I'm sure it was only a few weeks ago I was complaining about the continuous hot weather of summer and here we are, 25th March and counting down to winter!

It's been a really hectic week so far. Work is absolutely crazy with long hours, loads of pressure and the possibility of working right through the weekend as well as long days at the office. It's a part of my job but when you see your kids for only a few moments of the day, it makes it that little bit difficult. Baby Matthew has been so clingy to me this evening as he hardly saw me at all yesterday and most of today. Poor little man, he doesn't quite understand things like that, although Big Boy Luke sure does!

I don't know about you, but the last week of March and the next few weeks of April is a really busy month for birthdays in my household. Mainly friends and extended family, the birthday season is here. Today I wanted to make a really snappy card for my good friend's daughter who is turning 19 this week. I wanted something a little bit more upbeat than my usual style, so I thought I would give you a sneak peek of one of the sets due to be released by Stampin' Up! next week (1 April to be exact) when the new catalogue goes live!

This set is called 'Good Friend' and it's quite funky and I'm sure has lots & lots of uses! I've also used Tangerine Tango, another new In Colour of the new catalogue and if you look carefully you'll see an absolutely gorgeous flower brad, also released next week. You'll be wanting to see the catalogue for sure!! So without any more delay, here it is...

Stamps: Good Friend & Occasional Greetings

Inks: Stampin' Up! Classic So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Green Galore & Tangerine Tango

Papers: Stampin' Up! Whisper White & Designer Series Paper - Ginger Blossom

Other: New Flower Brads, Scallop Edge Punch, vintage brads, Dew Drops (non SU) and Stampin' Dimensionals.

Tip: Stamp solid images onto Whisper White CS and cut into shapes. Use Stampin' Dimensionals to lift them up!

I'll also be sending out an email today (if not tomorrow). I was planning to hold an Easter workshop this Sunday however due to unexpected circumstances with work, I will now defer it to our next monthly craft night on Friday 3rd April. It's unfortunate, but I would rather give notice of it now - then at the last minute.
