It's still hot - so use cool colours!

It's so hot! While we are not experiencing the high temperatures of Melbourne and Adelaide, Canberra too is in the middle of the heat wave. It really makes it difficult to want to sit down and play at your craft table when your hands are hot and sticky. It's now after 11pm and the air-con is still on. The nights are not really cooling down - so the house isn't cooling down either!

Today I was inspired by a card I saw in an old Stampin' Up! brochure. The SU! example used browns and greens, but I much preferred my colour combination of blues and browns. They are cool colours too (and by cool, I mean in relation to the temperature! Or more specifically cool vs. warm tones!) and I love them so much - I have been playing with lots of ideas - if only the weather would let me sit down and play! So here it is.... Even my Wonderful Husband liked this one!

Stamps
: Polka Dot Punches

Inks: Stampin' Up! Classic Chocolate Chip

Papers: Stampin' Up! Soft Sky, Chocolate Chip & DSP- Afternoon Tea

Other: Buttons & Taffeta Ribbon (non SU), Scallop Circle Punch & Circle Punch (SU)

Tip: Use Stampin' Up!s glue dots to stick your buttons down! Inside the card I have adhered whisper white paper so that you can actually write inside the card!

There are a couple of things I should mention with this card! The taffeta ribbon in this shade of blue is not from Stampin' Up!. Stampin' Up! have beautiful ribbons (and I really love them) including taffeta ribbon unfortunately not in the shade I have used for this card. The colour is actually not quite blue but not a green tone either - but it matches the Afternoon Tea DSP perfectly (I took a swatch of the papers into my local sewing shop to match!).

Also .... the Polka Dot Punches stamp set is one of the exclusive sets featured in the current Sale-A-Bration catalogue and when this special offer finishes, they won't be available again! If you love this stamp set (and yes - it's gorgeous!) - contact me now to put in an order of $100 or more to get your own free and exclusive set!

That's all from me today. Must be about bed time I suppose!
