Birthday Skater

Just over a week ago it was my son's birthday.  Oh my gosh, he turned eleven - so where did that go?  I haven't had a chance to share my projects (well birthday card) as I had my daughter's fourth birthday a couple of days ago.  And guess what it gets crazier better!  I have two birthday parties on one weekend.  I'm feeling exhausted!!

So for now, I'm going to start with sharing the birthday card.  I needed something that wasn't too young-ish (is that a word) and Luke asked for a skater game, so seemed like the perfect idea... to make this card!

Inspired by skateboard punch art I found on Pinterest.  I got to work!!  I used a Smokey Slate card base, a layer of Marina Mist and textured Whisper White CS for the card.

I made the skate boards from Marina Mist CS & Old Olive CS, which I had stamped with coordinating inks using the Woodgrain stamp set.

I added lots of background interest using Gorgeous Grunge and Off the Grid in coordinating colours.  Made some little wheels and put it all together.  The sentiment was an easy add on, and I decided to not put the age on the card.  He's such a big boy now!!

So here's what I used:
Stamps: Off the Grid, Woodgrain, Gorgeous Grunge & Itty Bitty Baners
Inks: Marina Mist & Old Olive
Papers: Smokey Slate, Marina Mist, Old Olive & Whisper White CS
Accessories: assorted punches
