DIY Notebook

It's not often I get the time, but I really like to give homemade gifts.  Especially for my friends and family that both appreciate handmade and value the time that is taken to make the gifts.  So when I wanted to send my favourite aunty a home made gift, I decided on a little covered notebook!

I found some little notebooks at the local shops.  While they weren't too bad to look at, I knew I could make them a whole lot prettier.   I covered the notebook in Marina Mist patterned DSP using my Tombow glue, and making sure the glue spread from edge to edge.  You also need to allow enough DSP to cover the spine of the note and allow for the natural crease/fold.  I also trimmed the corners to fit the curved corners of the notebook.

I used my new favourite Stamp Set: Simple Stems for the flowers, stamped in Melon Mambo on Whisper White CS and fussy cut each one of them.  I die cut the leaves, using the Little Leaves sizzlet from Pear Pizzazz CS.  I cut a strip off Daffodil Delight CS from one of my favourite DSP packs, and stuck down next to a strip of black Washi Tape.  I then glued my flower and leaves over the top.

I added a little sentiment from the Six-Sided Sampler stamp set and a few pearls to finish.

Papers: Gingham Garden DSP, Subtles Patterned DSP Pack, Pear Pizzazz & Whisper White CS
Inks: Basic Black & Melon Mambo
Accessories: Washi Tape, Pearls & Tombow adhesive glue
Big Shot: Little Leaves Sizzlet
