Dashing Reindeer

So it's the 21st of December and I'm still sharing my Christmas card parade, and yes they are all mailed and hopefully received by now! Day one featured the Color Me Christmas stamp set.  So Day two features the use of a Reindeer die that I had bought a year or so ago.  Can't remember really!  I bought the die for use with my felt and Christmas decorations but this year decided to use for cards!

The little reindeers were created from papers I had designed using English and French poetry scripts and then converting to a vintage style font.  I printed them onto regular A4 printing paper.  I used a laser printer for these, as I didn't want to take any chances of smudging, colour bleeds or leaking.  I then die cut them with my Sizzix Tim Holtz Reindeer die, and then sponged them with Soft Suede ink on the edges.

I then created the matts using Night of Navy or Real Red cardstock.  I stamped Christmas trees in silver ink using the Evergreen stamp set.  I embossed the two outer trees and left the centre tree as ink.  The silver embossing powder melts beautifully and creates beautiful images.

I have then layered these onto a Whisper White card matt.  Using my tombow glue, I added the reindeer so they were looking upwards and trimmed the edges where necessary.  I added a little silver star punched from Silver Foil Sheets.  This was all then layered onto a Whisper White cardbase.

I was really happy how these cards worked out.  They are a style of card that I would not normally make as they are a little bit arty!  If you would like a copy of the PDF I created on the vintage script, please email me and I'll send you one.  It's a freebie just for you!

So here's what I used:
Stamps: Warmth & Wonder
Inks: Soft Suede, Basic Black and Silver metallic
Papers: Whisper White, Real Red & Night of Navy CS, Silver Foil
Big Shot: Reindeer die
Accessories: Star punch
